EVERETT –The City of Everett has introduced a new online records request portal, hosted by GovQA, to make the process easier and more accessible for the public and to improve efficiency as the number of requests continues to increase.

GovQA’s web-based public records request management system allows requesters to set up a personal account through which they may submit, track and receive requests. Users will also find links to frequently requested information that is already available online, such as the Everett Municipal Code, City Council agendas and minutes, maps, and permits.

“We are committed to being transparent with our community members and it’s our goal to make the records request process accessible and easy to use,” said Sharon Fuller, City clerk. “This tool will improve the process for staff and requesters.”

The GovQA platform services more than 800 agencies across the country, including other Washington state counties. The system manages requests for public information filed under the Washington Public Records Act.

The online portal may be accessed from the City’s website at everettwa.gov/publicrecords.
