Everett boat launches and parking lot access to parks to re-open May 5

COVID-19 update from City of Everett

EVERETT, Wash. – Everett Parks & Community Services will open parking lots and boat launches on May 5 in response to Governor Jay Inslee’s new guidance on allowing some outdoor recreation. Parking lots will be open for all parks from dawn to dusk. Restrooms, amenities and active areas such as sports courts, ball fields, playgrounds, skate parks and off-leash areas remain closed until further notice.

For the health and safety of the community and to continue to slow the spread of the coronavirus, open park areas will remain open for passive recreation only (walks, runs, boating, bike rides and leashed walks with pets) to individuals and their immediate households. Additionally, boat launch pay stations will allow credit card payments only until further notice.

Community members are asked to continue to be good park stewards and follow public health guidelines and social distancing rules:

  • Don’t gather; groups, gatherings and crowds are still prohibited under Governor Inslee’s “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order
  • Stay close to home and don’t park in no parking areas
  • Stay out of closed areas
  • Limit your park use to walks, runs and bike (or boat) rides through open areas and trails
  • Keep pets on a leash and clean up after them
  • Pack out what you pack in; trash receptacles and removal is limited at this time

City staff continue to follow guidance from federal, state and local health officials, and will reopen additional parks amenities when the public health risk has passed. Staff are reviewing the Governor’s new COVID-19 requirements for golf courses and determining what operational adjustments need to occur to be in compliance and able to re-open to the public.
