Ladies tea square

EVERETT, WA – See the world through the eyes of 1880s journalist Nellie Bly, while sipping from fancy china cups at the Carl Gipson Senior Center’s annual Ladies Tea, Saturday, March 30, 1-3:30 p.m.

The elegant afternoon event offers entertainment, tea, sandwiches, assorted desserts and a parting memento. This year’s theme, “Around the World with Nellie Bly,” features storyteller Debbie Dimitre portraying the trailblazing investigative journalist. Bly famously traveled the globe in 72 days in 1889, and the tables at this year’s tea will represent various countries around the world.

“Dress up and treat yourself, and bring your friends, daughters and granddaughters along for a fun afternoon,” says Lisa Harrison of the senior center.

The Ladies Tea is open to ages 5 and older. Tickets are $25 or $18 for ages 5-9. Seating is limited for the popular event. Reserve a spot today by calling 425-257-8780.

The Carl Gipson Senior Center is located at 3025 Lombard Ave, Everett. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m.
