New playground equipment coming to Deer Park

EVERETT, WA - Everett families and visitors should plan for a closure of the play area at Deer Park, 1300 55th St. SW, while crews upgrade playground equipment. The playground at Deer Park will close in late March to begin construction. Work is expected to last several months, with the playground reopening by early summer.

Playground equipment at Everett parks is typically upgraded on a 15-year cycle. A design schematic reveals climbing opportunities, a new slide and swing, and interactive spaces to encourage safe, creative play for a wide range of ages and abilities. The design features natural park-like colors that complement the surrounding landscape. Playground surfaces will also be changed from woodchip to ADA compliant rubber tiles.

The construction area will be fenced off for the safety of park visitors. Visit everettwa.gov/parks for more information.
