EVERETT, WA – Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 1, Everett
Transit riders will pay a new fare for the first time since 2013. The fares
will increase in two stages in 2019.
On Jan. 1, adult fares will increase from $1
to $1.50, youth fares will increase to $1 and fares for seniors and people with
disabilities will increase to $0.50 per trip. Fares will increase again on July
1 to $2 for adults on fixed-routes and paratransit and $1.50 for youth. Fares
for seniors and people with disabilities will remain at $0.50 in July.
The fare increase is the first of three
actions in 2019 to put the agency on a path toward long-term financial
