Volunteers invited to connect with nature on Green Everett Day

GED2017

EVERETT, WA – Everett Parks and Community Services invite volunteers to roll up their sleeves for an energetic morning of forest restoration work on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 9 a.m. to noon at Hannabrook Park, 5815 Brookridge Blvd. Green Everett Day marks the beginning of the tree-planting season in the Pacific Northwest.

Green Everett Day provides an excellent learning experience for kids and aspiring gardeners alike. Volunteers will have an opportunity to celebrate their local forested parks and give back to their community. Tools and instruction will be provided on how to plant trees and shrubs properly to ensure a long and healthy life.

All ages are welcome and no experience is necessary. There will be snacks, refreshments and some special surprises! Interested persons are encouraged to RSVP, but it is not required.

Everett Parks and Community Services and Forterra created the Green Everett Partnership to improve the health of Everett's forested parks and natural areas. The program relies on volunteers to help restore these urban habitats. Learn more at everettwa.gov/greeneverett.
