EVERETT – Everett’s planning department will host a community open house on Wednesday, June 20, at the Main Library Auditorium, from 4-7 p.m., as the City prepares to conduct a periodic review of its Shoreline Master Program (SMP), as required by the Washington State Shoreline Management Act (SMA).
The SMA requires each SMP be reviewed and revised, if needed, on an eight-year schedule established by the Legislature. This review ensures the SMP stays current with changes in laws and rules, remains consistent with other City of Everett plans and regulations, and is responsive to changed circumstances, new information, and improved data.
The City is also updating the 2003 Shoreline Public Access Plan and seeks public input to help establish current and anticipated priorities for improved access. Community members are invited to learn more about both projects, and share input on the shoreline areas in Everett.
