Volunteer Opportunities

Mutt Mitts
Pet waste is one of the leading causes of bacterial contamination of streams in Everett. This program empowers community members to enhance the safety and enjoyment of neighborhood common areas, trails and other open spaces by making pet waste clean-up easy and convenient for dog owners.

Volunteer Duties
Volunteers keep the dispensers throughout the city of Everett stocked with bags.

How to Volunteer
Want to make a positive contribution to your community and become a Mutt Mitt volunteer? Contact Apryl Hynes at 425-257-8992.

Storm Drain Marking
Except in parts of the Everett combined sewer system, anything that flows into storm drains from our yards, streets, and roofs travels untreated to the nearest stream, lake or wetland and eventually to Puget Sound.

Volunteer Duties
The city encourages you to spread the message about the importance of only rain down the drain by installing storm drain markers in your neighborhood. The city has free drain marking kits that can be reserved. It is a great volunteer opportunity for individuals, families or school / civic groups.

Adopt-a-Street
Litter can diminish the beauty of a neighborhood and clog up storm drains. By periodically clearing storm drains of debris, leaves, litter and grass clippings, it allows stormwater to flow freely and prevent overflows and flooding
