Stormwater Management Program (SWMP)

Everett asks city residents to comment on
Everett's 2017 Stormwater Management Program (SWMP)

The City of Everett developed a Stormwater Management Program in 2017 to meet the requirements of the Western Washington Phase II Municipal Stormwater Permit. Yearly updates of the program are required. View the updated DRAFT 2017 Stormwater Management Program document (PDF) or call 425-257-8800 to have a copy mailed to you. There is no deadline for submitting comments or questions on this document. Address your comments and questions to Heather Griffin by email or call 425-257-7206.

The City’s Stormwater Management Program document describes actions the city will take throughout the year 2017 to maintain compliance with the Permit's Stormwater Management Program conditions, which are designed to reduce stormwater runoff pollution to Everett's waterways.

The Municipal Stormwater Permit is a requirement of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permits Program in the Federal Clean Water Act. Permit authority in Washington State has been delegated to the State Department of Ecology. Ecology issued a Phase II Municipal Stormwater General Permit to more than 100 municipalities, including Everett, in 2013.
