The proposed replacement of Edgewater bridge conflicts with nearby sewer facilities and requires the relocation of various manholes and pipes. A new sewer lift station is required in order to utilize the replacement conveyance sewer in Shore Ave.
Shore Avenue Sewer Forcemain
The sewage from this neighborhood flows down a pipe adjacent to Edgewater creek and into a sewer conveyance pipeline. A portion of the pipeline is almost 60 years old and inspections indicate that it needs to be removed from service. Based on cost and environmental reasons, the best solution is to install a new sewer pipe in Shore Ave.
The City’s sewer contractor will provide a Community Project Liaison (CPL) who will be the primary point of contact for residents. The CPL will provide regular updates for the neighborhood regarding traffic control and other activities.
