Bicycle route signs and shared lane markings (sharrows) will be placed on Hoyt Aveue from Pacific Avenue to 41st Street, establishing a single, continuous bicycle route from Alverson Road in north Everett to 41st Street south of downtown. A shared-use path for pedestrians and bicyclists will be constructed on the north side of 41st Street between Hoyt and Colby. Route signs will be added to the path, directing users to the intersection of Colby and 41st Street.
New ADA compliant curb ramps and push buttons will be constructed for pedestrians and bicyclists to cross 41st Street on the west side of Colby and to cross Colby on the south side of 41st Street.
New route signs will be installed to direct pedestrians and bicycles onto the shared path on the east side of Colby from 41st Street to the Interurban Trail at Colby and 44th Street.
Hoyt Ave is identified in Everett’s Bicycle Master Plan as the designated north/south bicycle route from Alverson Rd to 41st St. This project will complete the final link of the route, proposed in the Master Plan, between Pacific Ave and 41st St.
This project will also add a shared use facility for bicyclists and pedestrians to connect from Hoyt and 41st to the Interurban Trail on Colby and 44th St.
This project completes a critical bicycle facility for Everett, consolidating bicycle traffic from Colby and Rucker onto the lower volume, lower speed Hoyt Ave; providing a new crossing at Colby and 41st; and creating a new connection to the Interurban Trail and south Everett.
