Bring Your Bag Art Contest

Calling all K-8 artists

Show off your artistic talents by entering our “Bring Your Bag, Protect Our Environment” art contest.

Eligibility
Any student entering grades K-8 this fall may participate.

Theme
Artwork should be centered around the theme, “Bring Your Bag, Protect Our Environment.”

Format
All submissions must be original ideas created entirely by the student.

Artwork should be on 8.5x11 paper and any of the following media or techniques may be used:

  • Paint (watercolor, tempera, poster, acrylic, etc.)
  • Drawing materials (pencil, charcoal, colored chalk, pastels, oil pastels, colored pencils, markers, etc.)
  • Collage materials (cut and glued papers, such as construction paper, tissue paper, wrapping paper, aluminum foil, etc.)

Submission
Submit artwork with completed entry form (signed by parent or guardian), by mail or in person (see entry form for submission details). Entries without a completed entry form will not be accepted.

The name and grade (fall 2019) of the artist should be written clearly on the back of the artwork.

Only one entry will be accepted per student.

Submissions will not be returned unless entry includes a stamped, self-addressed document envelope. The city will not be responsible for lost artwork.

Deadline for Entries
All entries must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2019.

Ownership
Artist submissions shall be treated as being free of restrictions and limitations to their use. By submitting artwork to this contest, the parent or guardian of the artist grants permission for the City to post, print or publish the submission.

Notification of Finalists
Finalists in each age category (K-2, 3-5 and 6-8) will be selected in early September and notified shortly thereafter.
