Everett Essentials is the City’s civic academy course. This program is an opportunity for community members to learn how our City functions and how to become further involved in local government. Everett Essentials is designed to offer participants a behind-the-scenes look at City services and programs.
Everett Essentials 2020 has been cancelled due to COVID-19
Thanks for your interest in Everett Essentials. We are very disappointed that the COVID-19 virus has forced the cancellation of the 2020 course. We hope to be able to offer it sometime in the future.
What is Everett Essentials? The 10-session course includes City department tours and in-depth, hands-on learning about City services and operations. It is intended to introduce residents to city programs, operations and services through facilities tours, exploration of key civic topics, and to give people a pathway to leadership and participation in civic life. Everett Essentials encourages volunteerism on city boards, commissions, and in other leadership roles.
If volunteering with the City of Everett is of interest to you, we have many other ways to get involved with the City: www.everettwa.gov/engage.
Congratulations Class of 2017!
The inaugural Everett Essentials Class of 2017 was a great success. Students found that the class fulfilled their original reasons for applying and many of them have become more involved with the City and become active leaders in their community.
