Surrender Your Pet
The Everett Animal Shelter can only accept cats, dogs, puppies, kittens owned by residents living within the following jurisdictions: Everett, Unincorporated Snohomish County, Bothell, Brier, Gold Bar, Granite Falls, Index, Kirkland, Lake Stevens, Lynnwood, Marysville, Mill Creek, Monroe, Snohomish, Stanwood and Tulalip. If you need to rehome a pet from another jurisdiction, please contact a shelter or rescue group in your area.
When you release your pet to the Everett Animal Shelter, the animal will become the property of the City of Everett. You do not need an appointment to bring in your pet, but the owner needs to be present or have written permission authorizing the pet's release. You will also need to bring a driver's license or other photo identification.
We will ask you to complete a written pet profile when you arrive. This provides us with information about the animal's health and behavior to find the most appropriate placement. The intake process generally takes 20-30 minutes; please plan accordingly.
We strive to find homes for all healthy and behaviorally sound animals. We do not have time or space limits, but we cannot make any guarantees that we can place an animal. Please also be aware that the Everett Municipal Code prohibits us from adopting out pit bulls or mixes. If you are trying to find a home for a bully breed dog, we ask that you choose other options.
