The City is preparing to adopt a name for a proposed park located within the Riverfront Redevelopment project.
The 3-acre park, now known as Riverfront Park, is proposed to be named "Eclipse Mill Park." The park will be built south of the intersection of Eclipse Mill Road and 37th Street along the Snohomish River. The park will include a restroom/group picnic building, trails, play areas and an overlook with canoe/kayak access to the river.
The Historical Commission considered possible names for the park in spring of this year and forwarded two park names to the Board of Parks Commissioners.
The Board of Parks Commissioners returned a recommendation for "Eclipse Mill Park" to the Historical Commission.
The Historical Commission supported "Eclipse Mill Park" as the preferred name for the park.
The Historical Commission will hold a public hearing for naming the park at their regular meeting beginning at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 27, 2016 in the Wall Street Building Hearing Room, 8th Floor, 2930 Wetmore Avenue.
