Would you like to take a tour of a firefighter's second home? The Everett Fire Department has six stations located throughout the City and we would be delighted to show you around. We will show you where we work, eat, and sleep, as well as the equipment we use. We will also include an age appropriate safety talk along the way. Tours normally take about 30-60 minutes.
To schedule a station tour, please fill out this form or call 425-257-8100.
Since our station personnel are in service during tours, please prepare the children that there may be loud noises and equipment should not be touched unless they are instructed to do so. The possibility also exists that the crew could all be called out on an emergency before or during visit. If this should occur, we have to close the station and end your visit. We will be happy to reschedule your tour at a later date if necessary.
Fire trucks are exciting, especially to young children, but they are more than an amusing toy or a photo backdrop.
The Fire Department uses its equipment, including trucks, as a reminder that practicing safe habits can prevent an injury from occurring.
Firefighters will teach children and adults the importance of wearing a seat belt, having a fire escape plan, knowing when to dial 9-1-1 and many other safety tips.
Trucks do not visit preschools because it is difficult to keep young children's attention. Instead, staff will work with preschoolers in their classroom or at one of the fire stations where the environment is more controlled and comfortable.
